Supporting Broadway Theatre Here in Our Backyard

Riverside in the Community

The arts are important to a healthy, thriving community.

The arts, particularly theatre, play a pivotal role in the vitality of small cities like ours, fostering community spirit and enriching cultural life with acting, music, dance, and more. Our theatre not only entertains but also serves as a beacon of generosity. We proudly offer thousands in military discounts, provide free tickets to Title 1 schools, and present scholarships enabling students to attend musical theatre camps they otherwise couldn't. Beyond our stage, we're deeply embedded in the community: from being at the ballgames at Fred Nats Stadium to meeting families at Picnic in the Park, going to local schools hosting workshops, participating in STEAM nights, and sharing our performances with students. We cherish our role in giving back to the Stafford, Fredericksburg, and surrounding areas, yet to expand our impact, we rely on your donations. Together, let's continue to create and inspire through the magic of theatre.

Mission Statement

Because creativity is a vital force across all ages, backgrounds, and economic levels, the mission of Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is to promote the creative and performing arts from its optimal location in Stafford County to the greater Fredericksburg community and surrounding regions.  Riverside presents theatrical productions, nurtures an array of artists, and offers transformative educational programs as it conducts community outreach programs in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Did you know that it costs nearly a quarter of a million dollars to put on a show at Riverside Center?

When you think of a show, it’s not just actors and musicians. There are costumes, props, and sets that need to be created. We have to license the show from a company, which can cost around $50,000. Once you add in the creative team of directors and designers, actors, musicians, choreographers, and technicians who work backstage, which comes to about $150,000, you can see how the work Riverside Center does can really add up. Every dollar donated keeps Broadway’s best right in our backyard! We are proud of the work we do and appreciate your patronage and donations to help fund our next production!
