Run Crew

Pay Rate: $12.50/hr.

Job Summary

Run Crew members are hired on a contract basis per show. They report directly to the Production Stage Manager (PSM). Their duties vary by the show’s needs, but overall, they are responsible for the successful running of each production.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

Duties will vary based on show

  • Follow all call times as dictated by the PSM

  • Communicate effectively with PSM and respective department heads regarding any conflicts or issues

  • Operate all equipment and set pieces safely

  • Report any safety concerns to the PSM immediately

  • Sweep and mop the stage prior to each performance (mopping based on needs of show)

  • Complete pre and post shows in a timely manner

Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills

  • Basic carpentry a plus

  • Operating knowledge of a counterweight fly system

  • Awareness of general safety practices in the theater

  • Ability to collaborate with other crew members

Education and Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Preferred if candidate holds or is working toward a degree in Technical Theatre (or related field) from an accredited university or possess equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong desire and willingness to learn more about the running of productions and various crew positions

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level

  • Ability to move items up to 50 lbs. for distances of 25+ feet

  • Ability to remain standing and active for an 8-12 hour shift

  • Indoor activity with prolonged exposure to windowless work area

  • Frequent exposure to fluorescent lighting and low light conditions
