Written and created by Roger Bean, this smash Off-Broadway hit takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom, where we meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts!
Riverside Center announces line-up of Broadway’s Best for 2021
Fredericksburg, VA – Riverside Center for the Performing Arts and Producing Artistic Director, Patrick A’Hearn are delighted to announce a thrilling lineup of shows for its 24th season of bringing Broadway’s Best to Virginia that includes the return of Joyce DeWitt and Joe Inscoe in Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner and the regional premiere of the side-splitting new musical, Grumpy Old Men, based on the classic motion picture which starred Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, and Ann-Margaret. The season opens with the bubbly, off-Broadway hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes, then continuing with a sweeping tale of love and redemption in Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s Tony Award-nominated Bright Star. The season will ride into the holiday season and conclude with the beloved and heartwarming musical adaptation of Meet Me in St. Louis.

Riverside Center for the Performing Arts is excited to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning South Pacific with its new production in Fredericksburg, VA. The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic – which premiered in 1949 – did not have a revival until the 2008 Lincoln Center production (which, like its predecessor, won multiple Tony Awards®). Several of its songs, including “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” “There is Nothing Like a Dame,” “Happy Talk,” and “I’m In Love with a Wonderful Guy” have become popular standards.

The Riverside Center for the Performing Arts in Fredericksburg, Virginia is excited to present The Tony award winning La Cage aux Folles beginning January 9th and running until Sunday, March 3rd. The original 1983 Broadway production received nine nominations for Tony Awards and won six. The 2010 Broadway revival was nominated for eleven Tony Awards, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical. Based on the French play and retold in the Robin Williams movie, The Bird Cage, the Jerry Herman Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles is the story of a gay couple who must pretend to be straight for one night - with one of the men in drag - to dupe the conservative political family of their son's fiancée. Featuring songs, "I Am What I Am," "With Ann on My Arm," and "The Best of Times."
