Riverside Youth Camp

Rules and Expectations

Poli

Welcome to musical theater camp! We are so excited to have each and every one of you with us this year. Safety, Respect and FUN are of the utmost importance to the camp and staff, so we ask that all parents, guardians and campers read and agree to these camp rules.

1.     Attendance – Camp is only 10 short days! We ask that campers be present every day. Some exceptions are made for illnesses or emergencies. The last day of camp is mandatory. Campers who cannot be present for the showcase will not be admitted to camp.

2.     The check-in/out table will be located outside the front doors. Campers who arrive more than 15 minutes late will receive a warning. After 2 warnings camp staff reserves the right to dismiss the child[ren] from camp. Campers must be dropped off and picked up in a timely manner for summer camp participation. Failure to arrive on time to Riverside Center or failure to be picked up by a designated parent/guardian or another approved person may result in campers being unable to continue participating. Only those persons with permission from parents/guardians may pick campers up. Transportation is the responsibility of the parent/guardian, unless arrangements have been made prior to camp with a sponsoring agency.

3.     Tech and Show times – Thursday June 20th and Friday June 21st will be our tech days. Attendance of all campers is mandatory. On Friday the 21st we have our show. Parents and guardians do not need to pick up their children at regular time. Instead, we will have a performance that begins at 2:30pm. Doors open at 2:00pm.

4.     Dress code – Campers will need to wear close toed shoes (tennis shoes, dance shoes, etc.) every day. Appropriate clothing for choreography should also be worn daily (leggings, t-shirts, sweatpants, etc.). Campers who are dressed inappropriately will not be admitted to camp until proper attire is worn. ***For the performance, all campers will need to wear close-toed shoes. There may be additional clothing requirements as needed. ***

5.     Meals – Food will be provided at camp. Campers should expect a light breakfast and hot lunch everyday (the only allergy we can accommodate is peanuts). Water bottles will be allowed and will be provided. If you have a special diet, be sure to plan accordingly and pack before coming to camp.

6.     Gum – Campers are not permitted to chew gum during camp hours – NO EXCEPTIONS.

7.     Items from home – Campers should avoid bringing extra things from home. Riverside Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. However, there are some things that we suggest campers bring: A sweatshirt, because it’s a good idea to dress in layers. A water bottle that has a tightly closing lid.

8.     Electronics – Campers are allowed to have cellphones. However, cellphones may not be out during camp hours UNLESS there is a break, or special permission. Any cellphone being used during rehearsal time without permission will be confiscated and returned at sign-out.

9.  Behavior – All campers are expected to have appropriate behavior at all times. Horseplay and running around are not permitted. Any physically violent behavior, bullying or verbally abusive language is grounds for immediate dismissal. Camp staff reserves the right to dismiss children at any time for any behavior violation.

10.  Participation – All campers are expected to participate in camp activities (choreography, singing, acting, camp games, etc.). Campers who choose not to participate will receive a verbal warning. Continual refusal to participate will result in camp dismissal.

These Rules and Regulations will help us create a safe and comfortable space to rehearse. We look forward to putting together an amazing production this year! Thank you!
